The brush-making enterprise in Zhuangquan Village, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, has an annual output of about 300 million, and the brush-making factory drives employment for more than 1,500 people every year. The village of Zhuangquan in Guyang Town, including the surrounding towns, has a very large number of handle brush making factories, spraying paint has a very high impact on the quality of the atmosphere, and during the production process, the wooden handles need to be painted and coloured, with the resulting irritating smell.

After years of efforts to rectify substandard brush-making factories, it was ensured that there were no brush-making factories within 100 metres of residential areas and that the paint section was transferred to Green Island, where production was concentrated according to regulations and the exhaust gases were treated.
The government of Zhuangquan Village invested 8 million yuan to build three standardised factories outside the village, moving noisy factories out of the village, and also funded the construction of a 7 metre wide concrete road to facilitate access to the factories, which not only solved the problem of noise nuisance but also helped the normal development of the enterprises and increased the village's collective economic income.

Nowadays, most of the factory's production is foreign trade orders, and the supply process has been delayed due to the epidemic, resulting in a concentration of orders now. The association's president Zhu said that the village's current order production capacity is at least tens of millions of dollars, large and small factories are hurrying to catch up with the goods.
