Using a primer is very important if you're painting over a darker color, or if you've used wood filler on parts of the wall to repair damage. The stir stick will help you stir the primer and paint before pouring them into the paint tray. Roller extensions will help you reach higher parts of the wall, which is especially important if your home has high ceilings.
You can use a paint brush to paint around areas with outlets and light switches, as well as parts of walls near ceilings and trim. Use the roller to paint the flat part of the wall as close to the ceiling as possible. You should trim with a brush before using the roller.
