This technique gives you the ability to control any complex painting action at will. When holding the beaver-tail handles of larger brushes, you need to hold them with more force because the brushes are wider and heavier. Hold the brush handle with your whole hand, making full use of the width of your palm, just like holding a tennis racket. This technique works best when you are painting a large flat surface.
